Piggy Porridge Day!
Harvey's popcorn is triple-sifted during our manufacturing
process; first when it is hot air-popped, again on the cooling tray
and then on a screening table before it goes up the conveyor to
be packaged. All of this scrap goes into large bags which are
put into marked bins for a local farmer.
The pigs know when the farmer comes back in the truck that they
will soon get a sweet and/or savory treat. They start squeeling
when the truck pulls up. The farmer takes the popcorn scrap
and combines it with milk to make the "porridge".
The pigs run to the troughs and as you can see start climbing
on each other to get into it.
